Twenty female students of Youngone staff in Bangladesh and Vietnam, had the unique opportunity to visit South Korea recently.
Youngone Group has introduced a global experience program, which invites the college-age daughters of staff working at the company’s operations in Bangladesh and Vietnam to visit Korea, in cooperation with Sookmyung Women’s University.
The students spent eight days and seven nights experiencing Korean culture and taking part in industry and university exchange programs. This program is part of a development fund project that Youngone Group supported for Sookmyung Women’s University.
The goal is to enable female college students from developing countries, who have relatively fewer opportunities to travel abroad, to experience Korean culture and broaden their global perspectives.
While staying at Sookmyung Women’s University dormitories, they experienced various cultural programs, including taekwondo, K-pop dance classes, and a tour of Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon, Gyeonggi. They also visited Youngone headquarters for a session on the company and its businesses.
Rae Eun Sung, vice chair of Youngone Group, said, “We live in a time when global exchanges are part of daily life, but opportunities to go abroad are not open to everyone,” adding, “We also thank Sookmyung Women’s University for giving a meaningful opportunity to the children of the Youngone family.”
